If I were the Prime Minister, this will be what I would do:
- Take no paycheck.
- Gradually change the taxation system to eventually collect:
- No taxation on government employees’s incomes;
- Minimal taxation as low as 5% on incomes of individuals and public listed companies;
- Maximum taxation of 10% on incomes of private enterprise;
- Flat rate property tax of 2% for all Malaysians (individuals and enterprise), on any Malaysian property
- Disband the censorship board and allow the unions/associations to set-up their own rating systems for books, movies and other performance arts.
- Raise the poverty line to RM5,000 and remove those under it within 15 years.
- Gradually turn the government into a 24 hour service center. But reduce working hours for government employees, through shifts.
- School starts at 5 and ends at 16 years. Tests only for entrance to universities given by universities and audited by the Ministry of Education.
- Make the government pay for the teaching of all 17 year olds to drive cars AND motorcycles properly and let insurance companies decide whether to give individuals a licence to drive. JPJ will no longer test students but will still give out licences.
- Voting, driving, drinking, smoking, consenting/contractual ages to be standardised: 18 years.
- No more billboards because there is no censorship.
- Legalise and regulate, gambling, recreational drugs and prostitution.
- Remove information on race and religion from NRICs. They are irrelevant. Ban DNA tagging too, because soon it will be possible to access/hack your DNA using your NRIC.
- Merge SOCSO and EPF.
- National service: First: after school or 18, whichever earlier and Second: after retirement or 55, whichever earlier.
